[This slippery slope was tried once, in Nazi Germany.  At that time, the form of identification was a physical punch-card.  It was used to identify the Jews in Germany.  This new "well-intentioned" idea could later be used for sinister purposes.  The anti-messiah will demand obedience to his false rule and a national ID card could quickly identify non-believers....]
